Stainless Steel is a corrosion-resistant alloy of iron, chromium and, in some cases, nickel and other metals.Completely and infinitely recyclable, stainless steel is the “green material” par excellence. In fact, within the construction sector, its actual recovery rate is close to 100%. Stainless steel is also environmentally neutral and inert, and its longevity ensures it meets the needs of sustainable construction.
These wide coils are further processed using a range of manufacturing techniques such as slitting, where the wide coil is slit into a multitude of strands; this is where much of the confusion around the terminology comes in. After slitting, the stainless steel forms a batch of coils taken from the mother coil and these are referred to by many different names, including strip coils, slit coils, banding or simply strips.
There are various surface in Stainless Steel Coil, such as 2B,2BA,4K,8K. The 8K Mirror finish is considered the industry standard for a highly reflective, mirror appearance. This is achieved by directionally buffing with abrasive compounds in several stages, followed by buffing with a rouge compound. The surface produced is bright and highly reflective and is virtually free of grit lines, though at certain angles some are still visible. This particular finish is often applied to a variety of metal types for use in elevators and escalators.
Compared with 321 Stainless Steel, 321L has lower carbon content.This range of carbon in the steels affects the corrosion resistance.
